About Us
Jeffrey Ellison, PhD
Dr. Jeffrey Ellison is a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience in psychological assessment — and a commitment to the kind of thorough, individualized work that actually makes a difference.
Many people who reach out to Ellison Psychological Services have already spent years searching for answers. They’ve been told their concerns are too mild to warrant testing, received a quick screener rather than a real evaluation, or simply felt dismissed. Dr. Ellison started this practice because he believes people deserve better than that. A comprehensive evaluation — one that looks at the whole person, accounts for nuance, and produces recommendations you can actually use — changes the path forward.
Dr. Ellison specializes in ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and complex presentations where prior testing has been inconclusive or incomplete. He works with children, adolescents, and adults, including many adults seeking a first-time diagnosis later in life. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from East Tennessee State University, with advanced training in health psychology and psychological assessment.
He is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina and holds PsyPact certification, enabling virtual evaluations across much of the United States. Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Ellison is actively involved in the Gaston County and Lake Wylie communities, currently serving on the Gaston County Board of Health and the Catawba Mental Health Board.
